19.03.13. First meeting of the project partners in the project TERRE

The first meeting of project partners in the project TERRE - Territory, Energy & Employment, which is co-funded within South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme was held on Tuesday, 19 March 2013th in Rimini, Italy. At meeting has attended a total of 11 partners from 9 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia.

The meeting focused on administrative and financial activities of the project, development of guidelines, implementing media campaigns in the implementation of the project, and to conduct discussions on the next phases of the project. On Wednesday, March 20 2013th partners in the project visited the biogas-plant BIOMAX and two solar photovoltaic power plants, near Rimini. Lessons learned will be of great benefit to partners in the implementation of the project, since the project is based on the development of rural areas through the use of renewable energy sources, such as biomass and solar energy.

TERRE intends to experiment and demonstrate that a wise & integrated exploitation of endogenous resources to produce renewable energy is an effective engine for a self-generated and sustainable local development in the areas, based on PPP between public institutions, private operators, and local communities, to get revenues and employment opportunities in less developed or marginal zones, and thus to promote tailored paths of growth and development based on a proper use of local resources.
